ALATEEN/AMIAS INFO FOR MEMBERS
Are you an Al-Anon Member interested in working with teens?
Then becoming an AMIAS (Al-Anon Member Involved in Alateen Service) might be right for you!
The AMIAS may be of service by:
- Sponsoring a registered Alateen Group,
- Chaperoning at Area-approved Alateen events,
- Transporting Alateens to and from meetings and events.
An Alateen Group Sponsor is an Al-Anon member who is currently certified as an AMIAS and has made a commitment to be of service to an Alateen meeting on a regular basis.

AMIAS QUALIFICATIONS
- Be an Al-Anon member regularly attending Al-Anon meetings
- Have at least 2 years of consecutive Al-Anon membership (in addition to any time spent in Alateen)
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Have an Al-Anon personal Sponsor and/or Al-Anon Service Sponsor
- Pass a background check
- Active members of Al-Anon who are AA members may serve as as AMIAS!
